Santa Cruz Demo Day Recap

This past Sunday we arranged for the Santa Cruz Bicycles Demo Truck to meet us out at Massanutten's Western Slope mountain bike trails. With over 70 bikes demoed from noon-6pm, we were slammed, but we wouldn't have had it any other way - it was a blast.

First of all, Jason, the Santa Cruz Demo Truck driver is a total machine. He was in Asheville, NC the day before and arrived in Harrisonburg at 1am Sunday morning. He camped in the demo truck and had all the bikes out of his trailer and ready to demo by 10am.

We had Nomads, Bronsons, 5010s, Tallboys, and Highballs out for demo. From noon until 6pm there was a line for bikes and each one came back with a smiling rider.

Each Santa Cruz was running flawlessly and spec'd to be the most fun that they could be. Every bike was running Enve Composite wheels and XT drivetrains were the starting point.

But, it was a Demo Day and the bikes were supposed to be the main attraction, but they were only part of the fun. The people who came out to ride, really made the event a party. We had a constant stream of people hanging out and riding bikes. People from DC, Tennessee, North Carolina, RVA, and, of course, plenty of Harrisonburg locals.

To spice up the event we hid little treasures on the trails and it was fun to see people bring them back in. The trail treasures were anything from a shirt, to gift cards, to nutrition items. We'll definitely be doing that again.

Kyle burnt the bacon, blaming it on too many good distractions, but thankfully we had enough hot dogs to feed an army, which we did.

The local brews were on point and the ice cold cokes hit the spot on the hot day.

We're already making plans to do another Demo Day in the Fall and we'll definitely do it again in the Spring of 16. So keep an eye out for final dates.

Thanks again to all who came out, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
