I have had my Santa Cruz 5010 for four weeks and I feel like I have gotten to know it well enough to make it official, I LOVE THIS BIKE!  I have ridden it almost 50 hours in the past four weeks, enough to already need some love from our Service Department.

The 5010 is a 130mm Travel (5 inches) "All Mountain" bike with 27.5/650B wheels. The VPP Suspension is an incredibly efficient suspension that pedals so well I don't really even use the lock out, but it's there for my occasional pavement haul.  The bike has relatively slack angles with a 67 degree head tube and 73.8 degree seat tube, plus a nice bottom bracket height of 13.15 inches.  What all of these numbers translate to is the perfect all arounder. A bike that climbs efficiently even out of the saddle and feels stable on the downhills, even high speed ones!

The NEW VPP Link was moved from below the bottom bracket to above the bottom bracket creating a more protected link that also changes the suspension curve slightly.  The new 5010 has slightly better small bump compliance meaning it feels smoother on small hits and it feels like the suspension is a little bit more bottomless than the previous 5010 (this is the most noticeable on BIG hits).
